Reasons you could cite for not redeveloping our site...
- There are plenty of other sites (including "brown field" sites)
available for building housing without taking away an existing sports and leisure facility
that is so close to the town centre
- If the plan is to increase housing in our area, then we will need more sport and leisure facilities, not less
- I can easily walk to the club from the centre of town
- I can catch a bus to the club as it has a major bus route right alongside
- The site has been used for sport and leisure by the local community
for at least 130 years
- The town benefits from the close proximity of the club to the town centre -
parents from outlying villages who drop off children for coaching sessions can easily
walk into town to do some shopping - every week
- I like to play tennis or bowls while my partner / children play squash -
the facilities should not be separated
- Many people know where the tennis, squash and bowls club is and can direct visitors there easily
