Welcome to the Junior Section of Malton
Tennis Club!

We welcome all junior members and offer
opportunities for play and coaching at all levels.
Junior members may use the courts at any time
provided they are not booked for matches. (These occur
most weekday evenings from 6.30pm but there are often
spare courts especially when the grass courts are in
use.)
Membership gives significant discounts on
coaching and fun days, and enables juniors to enter club
tournaments and play team matches.
Junior Coaching
Junior Club Night is on Tuesdays from 4.00
– 6.00pm during the summer term but not during the half term
holidays. This will be organised social tennis run by Derek, for
improvers and advanced players i.e. should be able to play on
the full court, use standard scoring and underarm/over arm
serving. It will be a chance to play arranged matches, eg Road
to Wimbledon, or just turn up and play whoevers there. This
starts on 15th April.
Fun Days & Tournaments are being run throughout
the season. Entry forms and other information regarding junior
activities will be posted on this website and updated regularly.
To enter please download the form and send with payment
(preferably a que) as appropriate. Should an event be
cancelled then all cheques will be destroyed. Places are limited
and priority is given where possible to members. The Club
tournament we charge only a nominal fee for as Derek and Ian do
not charge us for their time, but the fun days do have to cover
costs, hence the difference in cost.
Junior Driffield League – This year we have
entered three teams in the Yr11&U sections, and one team in the
Yr7&U. Matches are mainly played at the weekend and are home &
away. Anyone wishing to play should tick the box on the
membership form. The team squads will be organised by the
coaches and everyone should get at least one or two matches
during the season. A parent is needed for each match to
supervise or provide transport, so please be prepared to help
with one of the matches.
